MEMBERSHIP
The Cheriton and Morehall Carnival Association was a member of many organisations over the years, and in the case of three organisations, the founder member. This page is dedicated to these organisations and our involvement with them.
Member of:
The Association of Kent Carnival Organisations (1987 - 2002).
The AKCO is an organisation made up of some of the carnival associations in the south-east of Kent. Originally membership extended as far as the south London boroughs of Bromley and Orpington, and the Medway and Maidstone towns. The membership area now terminates at Swale.
From 1984 to 2000 the main competition in the area was the Kent & Sussex Queen and Princess contests. First run jointly by the Allington and Maidstone carnival committees, then latterly by Dover Carnival Association, the contest was open to all courts in the AKCO as well as independent courts from Kent and Sussex. Cheriton Carnival Association is proud to have had a Kent & Sussex Queen (Stephanie), two runners-up in the Queen contest (Luan and Nicola), three runners-up in the Princess contest (Karol, Heidi and Rebecca), and a finalist in the Princess contest (Tracey). Member of:
The National Carnival Guild (1987 - 2003).
Mick was also a member of the Guild Executive Committee from 1993 to 2001; and committee members Mick, Tam, Graham, Karol, Kathryn and Graeme have all been awarded the Carnival Guild Medallion for Service.
The Guild has membership from the counties of Kent, Sussex, Essex, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, London and the South Midlands, and at one time boasted over 100 member associations.
The Guild holds an annual contest to find the National Carnival Queen, Princess and (in more recent years) Junior. The Cheriton Carnival Association has been proud to have had a Guild Princess, Carly, a Princess runner-up, Zoe, and six princess finalists, Karol, Nicola, Natalie, Mary and Michelle; a runner-up in the Guild Queen contest, Stephanie, and four queen finalists, Rose-Marie, Vivien, Stacey and Michelle; and a finalist in the Junior contest, Toni.

We are also proud to have had two winners in the Guild Essex Region Senior Miss Essex Belle of the Ball contest (Vivien and Mary), a winner in the Junior Miss Essex Belle of the Ball contest (Leanne), and two Junior runners-up (Carrie and Kayleigh).

Founder Member of:
The Federation of Independant Carnival Associations (2001 - 2005).
Membership includes associations from the south-east coast of Kent and the Court of Kent. FICA holds two main events - the Get Together at the beginning of the carnival year (which includes a karaoke and fancy dress contests), and the farewell dance in January (which includes the contest to find the FICA Senior and Junior Belle of the Ball). Cheriton Carnival Association is proud to have had the first ever Senior Belle of the Ball, Siobhan.
Founder Member of:
The Kent Carnival Court/The Court of Kent (1996 - 2002).
Karol also designed the logo for the Kent Court.
The Court of Kent is the premier court in the county, and is selected from all former members of all courts in Kent. The court attends such events as the County Show and the Maidstone River Festival. The winner (the Kent Queen) also gains automatic entry into the Miss EuroRegion contest as Miss EuroKent.
The Cheriton Carnival Association is proud to have had a Kent Queen, Rose-Marie, and six Kent Princesses, Zoe, Vivien, Rose-Marie, Mary, Stacey and Siobhan.

Founder Member of:
The Miss EuroRegion (England) Organisation (2000 - 2002).
Karol was also responsible for bringing the Miss EuroRegion contest to its present English organising committee.
The Miss EuroRegion contest is held annually, and is a competition between girls from the countries of England, France, Belgium and (for the first time in 2005) Wales. It is hoped that girls from Germany and Spain will take part in future contests. The EuroRegion finals are held in a different country every year.
Cheriton Carnival Association is proud to have had four of their girls take part in the EuroRegion finals as representatives for their country, Vivien, Mary (3 times), Stacey and Siobhan (3 times), with Siobhan winning the Miss EuroRegion Congeniality title in 2004, and a EuroRegion Princess sash in 2005.
