DANCING QUEENS
A look back on three decades of music - where I will name (and shame!) the songs that were guaranteed to get our courts off their chairs and onto the dance floor! Watch the videos of the songs that made us boogie!
THE EIGHTIES
The 80s brought us the New Romantics; Power Ballads; Stock, Aiken and Waterman; the start of House; and, unfortunately, Jive Bunny Megamixes (aka Lazy DJs delight).
But what got our girls onto the dance floor? The Only Way is Up by Yazz got us dancing and not just on the dance floor. Oops Up Side Your Head got us on the floor, literally. The Grease Megamix gave us all a chance to act as well as dance, while Jive Bunny's Haiwaii 5-0 Megamix was a laugh. The YMCA and Blame on the Boogie were always hot favs, as was Kylie's version of The Locomation, and, of course, Come On Eileen was a winner. And Luan, Linda and Karol were famed for their Banarama dance routines.

THE NINETIES
The 90s gave us The Manchester Sound; Garage; Grunge; Gangsta Rap; Hip Hop; The Latino Sound; Boy Bands; Girl Bands; and a mix of the two (thanks to Pete Waterman).
Our girls enjoyed doing the dance routines perfected by the Backstreet Boys, the Spice Girls and Steps. Sex on the Beach was good for getting a laugh as well as a dance out of the girls. And of course the Grease Megamix was still a hot favourite.

THE NOUGHTIES
Sadly the 00s have brought us an overwhelming influx of Fame Academy/Pop Idol/Pop Rivals/X-Factor wannabes into our charts; ringtone pop songs (yes, Crazy Frog, get back to your lillypad); Urban; and thankfully, the return of the Singer/Songwriter.
Our courts spent a lot of time in Essex, and came to love Tell Me Ma by the Shamrocks and Car Wash by Rose Royce and the dances that went with them. Also The Macarana, Saturday Nite, Follow the Leader, The Cha Cha Slide, and other line-dance type dances were a big favourite. And there was the return of Oops Up Side Your Head and The YMCA, as well as The Locomation, but the original Little Eva version this time. PS - Tasha, our Dancing Diva, was always up for a bit of solo dancing to Thriller.

Keep coming back - there's more to come.
